Pina Colada

The Pina Colada has been the national drink of Puerto Rico since 1978 and was first introduced in 1954 to customers in San Juan, Puerto Rico by Ramon Perez. The Pina Colada even featured in a hit song by Rupert Homes in 1979.

It’s a sweet cocktail that is made with rum, coconut cream or coconut milk, and pineapple juice and is served either blended or shaken with ice. A tropical cocktail that is a guilty secret pleasure maybe?

Snowball View cocktail Recipe

Snowball

Traditionally drunk at Christmas time, the Snowball was particularly popular in the 1970s, but made a comeback in 2012 after Nigella Lawson admitted to being partial to one.

A Snowball is a mixture of Advocaat and lemonade and as with so many cocktails, there are a variety of differing recipes. The addition of gin is a warming surprise and really adds to the flavour. Buying a shop bought commercial version of Advocaat is fine, making it yourself really isn’t necessary.
