The Diplomat Cocktail is relatively low in alcohol and it was a popular drink in the French Diplomatic Service.  Rumour has it that diplomats were able to sip on these and still keep their wits about them!

Ingredients

  • 40ml dry vermouth
  • 20ml sweet vermouth
  • 2 dashes maraschino liqueur
  • Lemon zest - to garnish
  • Ice

How to make

  1. Combine ingredients in an ice-filled short glass
  2. Stir to combine and garnish with a piece of lemon zest

The Pina Colada has been the national drink of Puerto Rico since 1978 and was first introduced in 1954 to customers in San Juan, Puerto Rico by Ramon Perez. The Pina Colada even featured in a hit song by Rupert Homes in 1979.

It’s a sweet cocktail that is made with rum, coconut cream or coconut milk, and pineapple juice and is served either blended or shaken with ice. A tropical cocktail that is a guilty secret pleasure maybe?
